Assisting Children of Robin’s Nest on Jamaica 2021 Mission Trip

The president and CFP of Taber Financial Advisors in Van Meter, Iowa, Randyl Taber is involved with the world community. In addition to current role as

capital fund raising director to re-locate, enlarge and modernize the 50 year-old the Bethesda Medical Center in Haiti, which also plans to establish a new
nurse training program along with their weekly mobile clinic trips in the remote mountainous areas of the northern department of Haiti, where many
sick and elderly live.. Bethesda Medical Center has also worked with the Health Ministry of Haiti for decades in providing treatments to patients with
tuberculosis and HIV/Aids. The additional help capital cost of the proposed medical center is about $3.5 million.. The clinic's proposed design will utilize
natively sourced materials and the most advanced solar power panel system with battery backup, especially in view that Haiti does not have an electical
power grid system outside its major cities. Also, local workers will be employed to construct the new medical center and nursing school since unemployent in Haiti is 80% and over time Haitians have come to resent foreign volunteers who take away construction jobs that pay good wages to
support their families.. Bethesda Medical Center board chairman, David Graffenberger, who became a missionary to Haiti in 1956 with his wife,
Marilyn, from their Albany, Oregon farm, reports that "cultural sensitivity is crucial in methods of charitable giving to maintain the authenticity of
our message of Hope and New Life in Christ." Bethesda Medical Center, under Haitian law,, is governed by a six member board of two Haitians, two
Americans and two Canadians. Currently all physicians including dentists and nurses at Bethesda Medical Center are Haitian. The clinic director is
Dr. Rodney Baptiste. In 2019 the Bethesda Medical Center had 35,000 patient visits apart from their mobile clinic activities.

"Curiously" says Financial Advisor Taber who served investment clients with Wells Fargo Advisors for 30 years (including 20 years with the former
AG Edwards and Sons in Des Moines, Iowa branch), "I am finding most charitable interest among foreign national business people for the Haiti
project with several indications of specific interest to help," says Taber. "However, the Covid has presented us from personal face-to-face meetings
needed to outline all the details and the whole vision of the Bethesda project for their next 50 years of ministry to suffering Haitians in the name of
Jesus Christ." Interested business people range from Warsaw, Poland to Kiev, Ukraine to Dubai, UAE. "Meanwhile, I am happy to help my
local church in their ministries to Jamaica."

The Lutheran Church of Hope has a busy schedule of trips planned for 2021, including two to Robin’s Nest Children’s Home in Jamaica. One of the church’s central objectives is to spread the Gospel, which includes the humanitarian mission of helping others.

On the trip to Robin’s Nest Children’s Home, volunteers will serve children who have suffered from malnourishment, abuse, or neglect. Volunteers help with chores, light repairs, and small construction projects on the property.

The first trip to Jamaica will take place in February 2020 and the second in June. More information is posted on the church’s website at www.lutheranchurchofhope.org.
